Liquid Waterproofing Systems
Seamless, cold-applied liquid coatings that waterproof flat roofs, gutters and tricky detailing without strip-out or hot works.
Liquid waterproofing is a cold-applied coating that cures into a single, seamless, fully bonded membrane. Because it is liquid when applied, it forms itself around upstands, pipes, plant and awkward detailing where traditional sheet systems are most likely to fail, making it ideal for flat roofs, gutters and complex roof areas.
Where liquid waterproofing works best
It is particularly well suited to:
- Flat and low-pitch roofs that are leaking but structurally sound
- Internal and box gutters, where joints and outlets are common failure points
- Roofs cluttered with plant, ductwork, pipes and penetrations
- Detailing around rooflights, upstands and parapets
No hot works
Liquid systems are cold-applied, so there are no torches, no hot bitumen and a much lower fire risk on site. On occupied and live commercial buildings, that often makes liquid waterproofing far easier to schedule and get approved than hot-applied alternatives.
A seamless, long-life finish
A correctly specified and installed liquid system bonds across the whole area with no laps or seams to lift, and can carry a long service life. We prepare the substrate properly, reinforce the detailing, and apply the system to the manufacturer’s specification so the warranty stands behind it.
Surface preparation is everything
A liquid system is only ever as good as the surface it bonds to. Most failures come from poor preparation rather than the coating itself, which is why we clean the substrate back to a sound, dry, contaminant-free surface, treat any corrosion, and reinforce movement joints and detailing before the main coats go on. Getting this groundwork right is what allows the membrane to bond fully and perform for its intended life.
Overlaying without a strip-out
Because it is applied as a liquid, the system can often be installed straight over an existing sound substrate, avoiding the cost, waste and disruption of tearing the old covering off. On a busy site that means less mess, no skips full of stripped material and a building that stays usable throughout.
Part of a wider roof plan
Liquid waterproofing often works alongside cut edge corrosion treatment, gutter refurbishment and protective coatings as part of a single refurbishment. Every job starts with a survey so we recommend the right system, not just the one we happen to be selling.
