Industrial Roof Sheet Replacement
Replace individual corroded, cracked or storm-damaged roof sheets and rooflights to make a roof watertight without a full re-roof.
Not every roof problem calls for a full replacement. Where corrosion has perforated specific sheets, where storm or impact damage has cracked panels, or where ageing rooflights have gone brittle and yellow, replacing the affected sheets restores a watertight roof without the cost of re-covering the whole building.
Targeted sheet and rooflight replacement
We remove and replace failed profiled metal sheets and degraded rooflight panels, matching profile and detailing so the new sheets integrate properly with the existing roof. Where corrosion is widespread we will recommend a broader refurbishment or overcladding instead, but where it is localised, targeted replacement is the economical answer.
Common reasons for sheet replacement
- Perforation from advanced cut edge or general corrosion
- Storm and wind damage that has lifted or split sheets
- Impact damage from falling debris or maintenance traffic
- Brittle, degraded rooflights that have yellowed, cracked or become a fragility hazard
That last point is a safety issue as much as a weather one. Old GRP rooflights become fragile with age and are a serious fall risk for anyone accessing the roof. Replacing them with modern panels restores both light and safety.
Matching the existing roof
The key to a good sheet replacement is integration. Profiled sheets come in many profiles, depths and gauges, and a replacement has to match the existing roof so the new sheets lap correctly, sit at the right height and weather as one with the rest of the covering. We identify the profile, match it as closely as the original allows, and detail the laps, flashings and fixings so the repair is not a visible or vulnerable patch.
Insulation and liner sheets
On a built-up or composite roof, replacing the outer sheet is also a chance to check and, if needed, renew the insulation and liner beneath it. A perforated outer sheet often means water has already reached the insulation, so we open up, assess what is underneath and put back a complete, dry build-up rather than sealing damp materials in.
Fast response for damage
Storm and impact damage rarely waits for a convenient moment. Where a sheet has failed and the building is taking water, we will prioritise making it watertight and then plan any wider works around your operation.
